The Crystal Chronicles. Chapter 5: Road to Perth Pokémon Centre

Brendan has come into his new found reality. He has woken up in Perth, Australia: a city in Western Australia far away from his hometown of NYC. He’s been taken their 35 years into the future by Arceus for reasons unclear. A boy who looks similar to Brendan named Tye has found him and is trying to help him with his unclear memory. They are on their way to see Nardi: Brendan’s Pikachu at the Pokémon Center...

October 23, 2043. Its afternoon as the bright Auzzie sun shines down upon a desolated dirt road. There is only rubble of buildings left and right. The city looks like a war zone... We see both Brendan and Tye walking side by side. Tye is discussing events that have happened in his time period with Brendan.

“I can’t believe it...” Brendan sighed. “I don’t understand why Pokémon would attack humans and destroy like this is all over the world...”

“It’s been bloody terrible here in Perth with the attacks.” Tye said. “Hoards of Nidoking and queen smashed their way through Perth and plundered left and right just last week.” “Do you remember hearing that on the tele?” Tye asked.

“...I told you! I’m not from this time! I’m an American trainer from 2008” Brendan replied.

“Arcues’s effects certainly took your memory good... I’ve never heard of Arceus sending people through time; just distorting their thoughts and memories.” Tye said.

Brendan said nothing. He knew his roots and knew he wasn’t crazy. He wished Tye would understand. Then again, it’s not every day someone wakes up 35 years ahead in time. Brendan thought this to himself.

“...Are all Pokémon like this? What about Pokémon trainers? Are their Pokémon rebelling and attacking too?” Brendan asked.

“No..., from what I’ve seen and observed, lower basic and second stage Pokémon still seem to be friendly towards humans while third stage Pokémon evolutions seems to be the antagonists. Human trained Pokémon seem to be unaffected; at least mine are ok anyway.” Tye replied.

“You’re a trainer too, huh?” Brendan said.

“Course! Out here in these conditions, you gotta have someone watching out for ya!” Said Tye.

They reached an intersection in street. The surroundings looked the same with damaged or near destroyed buildings all around. “Where are all the city people?” Brendan asked.

“They’ve all taken shelter in the Pokémon Centre. Ours is the biggest on west side Australia.” Tye replied. “Come on, it’s just around the corner here!”

Brendan and Tye both crossed the desolate street to only found in shock that the Pokémon center was in trouble! A dozen Nidokings and Nidoqueens were surrounding the large building! Screams from inside could be heard. Windows shattered as a several Nidoking used mega punch to break through the side windows.

“Oh my god! The centre!” Tye said falling to his knees. He paused for a moment starring at the dirt below him. “Bloody hell! Let’s get out of here!” He got back up in his feet.

“NO!” Brendan yelled putting his arms in front of Tye who tried to run the opposite way. “We gotta get Nardi and help the people out!”

“It’s suicide, mate! They already smashed the city apart as you see! We don’t stand a chance to help them!” Tye snapped back.

“...I don’t you know about you but I’m going to follow my heart on this one rather than my mind. And right now, my heart is with Nardi. I won’t let him be harmed!” Brendan said this as he went dashing towards the Pokémon Center.

With a new found conflict, Nardi and the citizens of Perth threatened by savage Pokémon. Brendan will not let harm be done by them; especially to his beloved Pikachu.
