Recommended Move Combinations
Below is a list of some effective moves combinations that'll get the best of your opponents. The list below will overview some combinations for both single and double battles.
Combinations
- Rain Dance + Thunder
- Sunny Day + Solarbeam
- Toxic Spikes + Roar
- Belly Drum + Psych Up
- Belly Drum + Rest + Chesto Berry
- Endure + Reversal
- Toxic + Double Team/Protect
Rain Dance will help boost the accuracy of the powerful electric move Thunder. A water Pokémon can also do more damage than usual while rain dance is in effect. A Pokémon such as Lanturn would be perfect for this combination. This move set would also work for a double battle; having one electric and water type Pokémon on your team.
This is an effective combination for both single and double battles. Have your Pokémon cast Sunny Day. The move Solarbeam will now hit without the need to charge. If you can, have your Pokémon (or other Pokémon in a double batlle) use fire based moves which will be stronger with Sunny Day in use.
Toxic Spikes scatters poisonous spikes around the opponent's Pokémon. Then, use roar and a random Pokémon will be switched in and become poisoned from the spikes (unless immune). Repeat.
Here's a great one for double battles. Have one Pokémon use Belly Drum to max out its attack. Then, have your second Pokémon use Psych Up to also max out its attack without cutting its HP in half (Kimishima and Tsuboike 18)! This combination would be killer with the one below:
This is a good one: a combination that's often used with a Snorlax (Kimishima and Tsuboike 18). Using Belly Drum will max out your attack and cut your HP in half, then by using rest, you'll gain your HP back and go to sleep. However, if the Pokémon is holding a Chesto berry, that'll wake it right up. Now you have full health and a maxed up attack ready to go!
If you're at a disadvantage in terms of power, use the move Endure before you think your opponent is going to finish you off. Then, use reversal to really turn the tables against your opponent (Pichu's World 2007).
Using Toxic and then Double Team or Protect will make it harder for your opponent to hit you. As the battle wears on, the poison will become worse for the opponent as it struggles to hit your Pokémon from the increased evasion of Double Team or Protect (Pichu's World 2007).
