Mt. Ember

If you recall from the original Pokémon Red and Blue, Moltres (the legendary Fire bird Pokémon) could be found at Victory Road. Not so anymore. You'll find him along with another important key item at Mt. Ember located one One Island

Getting to Moltres

1

Moltres is at the very top of Mt. Ember. The mountain itself is a mess of rugged terrain. You'll need a Pokémon that knows both rock smash and strength to get to the top. Just keep proceeding through the mountain caves going in an upward direction to reach the top.

You'll find Moltres waiting for you at the top. It is at level 50. I hope you brought many Ultra balls as you'll go through many to capture Moltres. Just save your game before battling and whittle down Moltres's HP.

The Ruby and Other Items

One important item you'll find here at Mt. Ember after defeating the Elite Four is the Ruby. You'll need it in order to establish a connection for trading with the Ruby/Sapphire games. Here's a list of all the items on Mt. Ember:2

  • Dire Hit
  • Explosion (Can be learned from Hiker at the entrance).
  • Fire Stone
  • Ultra Ball
  • Ruby (Only found after defeating the Elite Four).
