Programs/Software Used
Being a big computer IT guy, it's appropriate that I tell you guys what programs I use for the development of PH and my personal use as well.
Pikachu's Hideaway Design
- Textedit
- OpenOffice.org
- Adobe Photoshop CS4/Paint Shop Pro 8
- Google Analytics
This is a Macintosh application comparable to notepad; only with more useful features. It's still basic but it gets the job done. It's usually where I create and code my pages. Nothing fancy here otherwise.
OpenOffice is a really nice Office Suite program that's open source. The best part about Open Office is the fact it's free. If you want to read more about OpenOffice, go to TechBITE Resources.
I'm still learning, but CS4 is what I'm using for graphical design. I used to use Paint Shop Pro for several years, and still do on my PC.
This is a free tool by Google which I use to keep track of visitor hits and visitor trends. It's very intuitive and gives me information from total visitors, to unique hits, to which connection, operating system, and browser is most used viewing PH. These are just some of the numerous features Analytics offers. It's really a great tool to use.
Browsers

- Safari
Being a Mac guy, you would think I use Safari as my main browser. I do like Safari, but I <3 Firefox even more. It just works, and tabbed browsing is still for the win.
I use Safari for Mac more as a back-up when something does go wrong with Firefox.
Leisure
- iTunes
- iPhoto
- Skype
I live by my music whenever doing anything on the computer, so I always have iTunes open.
Photography is also my thing as a hobby, so I use iPhoto to manage and edit my photos. It's extremely easy to use.
Skype is my favorite IM client and the only one I use. I keep in touch with all my friends and several affiliates with it.
