Power Plant
The Seafoam Islands is a fairly large area home to many of the game's ice Pokémon; most notably Articuno. The Seafoam Islands is located between routes 19 and 20. If you're going for Articuno, I advise entering on the route 19 side by surfing from Fuchsia City. Oh, speaking of surf, you'll need a Pokémon that also knows strength to get around inside.
Inside the Seafoam Islands
This place has several floors which include a rapidly flowing current of water. To reach Articuno, you must block the flow of water by using strength to push the boulders into the holes. You can also find the following items here too:2
- Big Pearl
- Ice Heal
- Revive
- Ultra Ball
- Water Stone
Capturing Articuno
1Articuno, like all the other legendary birds is at level 50. It is neutral to ice based attacks despite ice being its own type. As always, save before engaging, try and bring its HP as low as possible, inflict status effects, and have a lot of Ultra Balls.
