Special Episodes
As you progress through Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of the Sky, you'll have the opportunity to play as characters you've met in the game through Special Episodes. These episodes are unlocked after reaching a certain chapter in the game and can be accessed from the main menu. Their purpose is to add greater depth to the story by allowing you to gain insight through other characters in the game.
Episode 1:Bidoof's Wish
Unlocked after: Chapter 3
Main Character: Bidoof Lv. 10
Partner Characters: Snover Lv. 22
Dungeon: Star Cave
The special episode occurs in the past. Bidoof has set off to join Wigglytuff's Guild, but unfortunately causes a lot of trouble for everyone due to his clumsy ways. Bidoof learns of a rumored Star Cave where the legendary Jirachi sleeps and is said to grant wishes. Excitedly he sets off to meet Jirachi to ask to become a better explorer...
Episode 2: Genius Igglybuff
Unlocked After: Chapter 9

Dungeon: Dark Forest
The special episode occurs in the past. The story tells of Guild master Wigglytuff, when he was a Igglybuff. Though small, Igglybuff was a courageous, and strong Pokémon. One night a Banette, and Skorupi try to scare Igglybuff and his friends, but fail in scaring Igglybuff. He even calls them friends. Banette and Skorupi use this to their advantage and trick Igglypuff into exploring Dark Cave: home to a ferocious Armaldo. Armaldo is shocked by Igglybuff's bravery and takes him in as a mentor. The two go on expeditions together until something shocking is revealed about Armaldo...
Episode 3: Today's Scream

This present day episode episode involves Sunflora and Loudred who often get into screaming and yelling arguments with each other. One day, Sunflora is called upon to apprehend a criminal Haunter but runs into a lot of trouble trying to apprehend him...
Episode 4: Charm's Arrival

Dungeon: Southern Jungle, Large Rock Cave & Limestone Cave
This past episode involves two rescue teams: Team Charm and the Team of Weaville, Drapion, and Arbok. They are trying to reach a great Treasure, but both teams are warned by a Bellossom, and Sentret that many teams have never been able to make it through. The two teams reach an empty treasure chest at the end. Blaming each other, they fight but are stopped by Wigglytuff. The treasure turns out to be something much more than ordinary treasure...
